Friday 1 November 2013

With Halloween over its definitely time to start looking towards Christmas which to my mind is a time for indulgence.  No, not for the children, but for us women who work hard all the year and then are expected to provide the special Christmas Day that the family always expect. Not for many of us
ladies the longed-for break from routine, just the additional rushing to get everything perfect for everyone else.  OK, we can do it but let's treat ourselves first!

Now is the time to buy that little something that could allow us to relax while we rush around the shops, drag in heavy bags of special food, wrap presents, work on the social arrangements for the holiday and keep smiling throughout.  With one of these in the wardrobe we know that we too can be ready for all the Christmas entertaining, despite the huge list of additional chores to fit into life.

I think these little boleros are just what will put a spring in my step (or even a feeling of Christmas goodwill).  Knowing that I could just pop one of these over a  simple black dress or even trousers and a top will enable me to relax as the chores pile up and the clock ticks away. No need to allow half an hour to get changed and presentable, let the door bell ring and I can rush upstairs while the family offer drinks and appear within minutes as the most elegant hostess.

I had managed to collect half a dozen of these vintage boleros but have already sold four of them.  These two are for sale at No. 21, Market Square, Shepton Mallet and if they are still there by next Friday they will be coming with me to the Antique and Collectors Fair at the Bath and West on the 8,9,10th November.  The sequined one is £15 and the 'Darling' pearl and pleats is £25.
